SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS COMPLETE FIRST YEAR by Ruth Ann Mueller
The Palmyra Chamber of Commerce selected two students from the
Palmyra-Eagle High School
graduating class of 2009 to receive a $250.00
scholarship. The two students that
received the scholarships were, Kourtney Mueller and Jessie Rosenow.
They have
now completed their first year at the higher learning school of their choice.
Mueller, who was one of six valedictorians to graduate in her
class, is
now attending UW-Waukesha and has carried fifteen credits this past
semester.She plans to transfer to
UW-Madison to minor in sociology and major in the animal field after she
receives her Associates Degree at
UW-Waukesha. “The scholarship money that I
received from the Palmyra Chamber of Commerce has helped me pay for my
books
which are very expensive,” said Mueller.
Jessie Rosenow
Rosenow, is also attending the UW-Waukesha and is majoring in
accounting.
His course load consists of an English, math, accounting and a Microsoft
excel
class. Rosenow plans on transferring to the UW-Whitewater where he plans
on
majoring in accounting.“My advice
to all high school
students is to fill out all the scholarships you can,” said
Rosenow.“Just getting used books
alone can cost over three hundred dollars,” he
added.
